ANNUAL SHOW

The HCAT&EC 2011 Annual Show is over, but the description is retained below to provide viewers with an idea of what the 2012 show might be like. Planning is underway for the 2012 Annual ShowHercules Engines and Massey-Harris Tractors will be featured.

Please note that the Tractor Pull at the HCAT&EC 2012 Annual Show will be conducted by HWH Pulling Sled Inc./Tractor Pulling Texas, which has a self-propelled sled and the personnel to conduct a much larger pull than has been possible when it was conducted by club members. The 26th annual Hill Country Antique Tractor & Engine Show will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 10th and 11, 2011. This will be the seventh year for the show at the Gillespie Country Fairgrounds, two miles south of Fredericksburg on State Highway 16.

Activities will include exhibits of antique tractors and antique engines, antique tractor parades, tractor-pulls, lawn mower/garden tractor pulls, kiddy tractor-pulls, farm machinery demonstrations, featured operations of large engines, a blacksmith shop, vendors of agriculture-related items, food and drink concessions, etc.

Witte Engines and Farmall "Letter-Series" Tractors (Models A through H) will be featured at the show.

Exhibitor Registration is scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to sundown. The Show will be open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to sundown on both Friday and Saturday. Admission to the show will be $6.00 (children 12 years old and younger are free). Admission will be charged from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday and from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. A pass for both days will cost $10.00.

A limited number of RV spaces are available at the Fairgrounds.  For information about the RV spaces or to reserve a space during the 2011 show, please contact Becky Smith at 830-997-3012 (evenings) or dbs@fbg.net

A Night in Old Fredericksburg is scheduled for the same weekend as the tractor show, so it would be wise to reserve accomodations early.

Loading docks of varying heights are available at the Fairgrounds and there is abundant space available for parking trucks and trailers.

The Board of Directors recently adopted new Safety Rules for the Annual Show in June.   Individuals who plan to attend the show are encouraged to review these at Safety Rules (WORD) or Safety Rules (PDF) The PDF file requires a special reader; this may be downloaded free at  Adobe Reader.

Tractor Pulls in 2011 will be based on weight, following rules of the Texas Antique Tractor Pullers Association (TATPA). These rules may be viewed at TATPA Pulling Rules  For information about the tractor pulls, please contact Tractor Pull Chairperson Kyle Burrow at 830-889-2103 or shereeb@fisd.org   Kyle is interested in receiving recommendations regarding additions or changes to the tractor pulls.

Exhibitors who plan to bring engines and tractors to the 2011 show may register in advance by completing and submitting the Exhibitor Registration (WORD) or the Exhibitor Registration (PDF)  The PDF file requires a special reader; this may be downloaded free from Adobe Reader. A procedure is now in place to test and certify youth between 12 and 16 years of age to operate tractors and other motorized vehicles at events such as HCAT&EC's annual show.  Information about this procedure is available at Youth Certification (Word) or Youth Certification (PDF).
